Welcome to AVLsherpa

AVLsherpa is a creative project that seeks to inform, entertain and inspire. It is intended for anyone interested in Asheville and the surrounding communities. I moved to Asheville in late 2023 after living in Atlanta for 38 years. If you are thinking about moving to this area in the future, you might find this helpful.

My experience as a tour guide might also be of interest. Between 2015 and 2022, I designed and led 300+ walking tours in Atlanta. I also created a number of educational tools designed to help residents and visitors connect with Atlanta's past, present and future. 

The AVLsherpa project spans three platforms: this website, a podcast and an Instagram account. I'll be publishing stories and photos on all three in the weeks and months ahead.
